Jets Suppress Brees, Saints: NYJ 26 – NO 20
Rex Ryan and the Jets were able to contain the dangerous Saints offense, holding New Orleans to just two touchdowns and two field goals in a big 26-20 win at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
Drew Brees passed for 382 yards and both Saints' touchdowns, but was intercepted twice by Gang Green.
The Jets offense relied on and succeeded with the run game, 198 yards as a team, led by Chris Ivory, who chewed up his former Saints teammates with 139 yards rushing and a touchdown. Geno Smith passed for just 115 yards, but ran for a score, his lone touchdown of the day.
Rex Ryan moved to 5-0 all time versus his twin broth Rob - the defensive coordinator in New Orleans.
The Jets (5-4) have a buy in Week 10. The Saints (6-2) host the Cowboys next Sunday night, a game that can be heard on WIBX 950.
