Deputy Fire Chief John Roman is hanging up his helmet after 32 years with the Utica Fire Department.

Roman says today comes with mixed emotions.  He says it's been a great job that he loved every minute of, and it's tough to leave.

When asked what he'll miss most about the job, Roman replied "the guys."

Roman was honored at the Utica Central Fire Station on Bleecker Street by his fellow firefighters.  He was presented a plaque for his over three decades of service.
