July 4th Events in Central New York

America’s birthday is quickly approaching and towns across the region are getting ready to celebrate.

Several local communities (and some a little further away) are holding July 4th celebrations to mark the 236th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Fun fact about the Declaration of Independence: Of the 13 original colonies, only New York’s delegation tried to abstain during the July 2nd resolution vote for independence. They later voted ‘yes,’ making it unanimous.

July 4th celebrations, in order of town name:

Hamilton:

- July 4th Parade starts at 11 a.m. starting from the airport and marching towards town.

- Fireworks will be held at Colgate University at dusk.
