Jury Convicts Man Of Strangling, Sexually Assaulting 3 Women

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A western New York man is facing up to life in prison after a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting three women over a two-year period.

Authorities say 22-year-old Derrick Macon, of Rochester, was found guilty on Wednesday of predatory sexual assault, rape and strangulation.

Prosecutors say Macon followed the women as they walked in Rochester between June of 2012 and August of 2014 and then strangled them until they were unconscious. Authorities say he then sexually assaulted them.

Macon, who didn't know the victims, was linked to the assaults through DNA testing.

His sentencing is scheduled for next month.
