Utica, NY (WIBX) - The jury deliberating the James Street murder trial returned a guilty verdict, in the case against, Marshall Jackson. The 30-year-old U.S. Army Veteran was found guilty on 2nd degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of stolen property. Jackson is accused of murdering, 24-year-old Anthony Garner on May 25th last year.

During the trial it was learned that the altercation started when the victim, who was walking out of a store, asked the three men who were seen chasing him on surveillance video, "How's it crackin'?" According to officials, the term was considered disrespectful. That's when the altercation started. Officials say alcohol was a factor in the incident. Jackson will be sentenced on March 15th. The jury took 21 minutes to find the defendant guilty on all counts.

It was learned that another weapon was used in the killing and the case is still under investigation by authorities.
