Utica, NY (WIBX) - Jury selection in Oneida County Court for the case against 40-year-old Christian Patterson of Knoxville is complete. The jury pool is made up of 6 men and 6 women. Patterson is charged with aggravated murder in the death of Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy, Kurt Wyman.

The 24-year-old Wyman was shot in the neck during a 6 hour stand-off with Patterson, in the Town of Augusta on June 7th last year. Wyman was fired upon when he attempted to take Patterson into custody. Patterson was wounded in the incident after officers on the scene returned gunfire after Wyman was shot. Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol and other members of the Sheriff’s Office are expected to attend the trial. Patterson is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole, if he's found guilty on the aggravated murder charge. Testimony is expected to begin tomorrow morning.
