Wednesday's Keeler in the Morning show took an unexpected turn when possible congressional candidate Dave Gordon took a shot a gay politicians who openly support gay marriage, but themselves are 'in the closet'.

Gordon, a Democrat, who served one term on the Oneida County Legislature and recently lost a bid to return to the county legislature representing South Utica, has said he is mulling a possible run for NY's 22nd Congressional District. He joined the show to talk about his exploratory committee and react to this week's news that Richard Hanna would not seek re-election to the post, but said this issue had been 'bothering him' and wanted to address it.

''...If they're truly going to support [gay marriage], why live these staged marriages and try to show the voters that they're someone that they're not,'' Gordon said.

When questioned, Gordon said he wasn't talking about anyone in particular, adding that he too supports gay marriage.

The interview later derailed when host Bill Keeler ripped Gordon over his apparent lack of knowledge of the recent debate over funding for Planned Parenthood which nearly triggered a shutdown of the federal government.
