Kirkland, NY (WIBX) - A series of shots fired incidents left two people nearly injured and the Kirkland Police looking for answers.

According to officers, the first call was received at about 4 p.m. yesterday. The caller reported shots fired near the Lewiston at Pheasant Run Apartments, saying the shots were close to the complex and to Route 5.

A second call was received about ten minutes later, when a hunter in a tree stand off French Road reported bullets striking the tree he was in. The hunter was uninjured, and officers from Kirkland and the NYS Environmental Conservation Police are investigating the scene.

At 4:30, Kirkland Police received another call from a resident living on Post Street. The caller said his 12 year-old daughter was nearly hit by a bullet, when it passed through the wall of their bathroom. An officer was able to retrieve the rifle shot.
