Kirkville Woman Arrested For Welfare Fraud

A Kirkville woman has been arrested for welfare fraud.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, 30-year old Thara Hemingway was overpaid $7,395 in public assistance benefits from June of 2010 to March of 2012.

Hemingway allegedly presented a public assistance application that failed to contain income she was receiving from disability benefits.

She was charged with welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.
