Carmelo Anthony's red-hot start sparked the Knicks offense en route to a 121-100 victory over the Pistons on Sunday at MSG, New York's fourth 20-plus point win on the young season.

'Melo scored 15 of his 29 in the first quarter on 6-of-7 shooting, including 3-3 from 3-point range as the Knicks jumped out to a 32-22 lead.

Steve Novak found his three-point stoke (5 of 7) for the bulk of his 18 points, Rasheed Wallace and J.R. Smith poured in 15 apiece and Raymond Felton had 14 points and 10 assists.

Tyson Chandler contributed 13 points and seven boards as the Knicks improved to 9-3 overall and 5-0 at Madison Square Garden.

Brandon Knight had 21 points for the Pistons (3-11). Charlie Villanueva added 17.

Mike Brown and the Knicks have a showdown in Brooklyn on Monday night against their new in-state rivals, the Nets (8-4).
