Knife Wielding Man Attempts to Rob Supermarket

Hamilton, NY (WIBX) - Madison County Sheriff's Investigators need your help in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred at the Price Chopper supermarket located at the Madison Marketplace on Route 12B, just north of the Village of Hamilton.

Around 4AM Saturday, a white male entered the supermarket and demanded money from a cashier at knife-point. The cashier was able to yell to a coworker, that's when the man left the store  and ran north out of the parking lot, disappearing. It is unknown if the suspect fled by foot or vehicle.

In-store video security surveillance footage, as well as surveillance footage from other businesses in the area are being reviewed by investigators.

Suspect description:

• white male
• described as 5’ 9”
• between 20 and 25 years of age
• wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans
