Kopacz Sentenced for Killing Susquehanna Woman

A 35-year-old Susquehanna County man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a woman nearly a year ago.

Jonathan Kopacz of Thompson pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Kelly Conklin.

Kopacz had been taken into custody several hours after Conklin was gunned down outside her Susquehanna home last October.

Investigators said Kopacz had followed Conklin after she left a bar. They said he threatened to kill himself after the deadly shooting.

Kopacz is to be held in the Susquehanna County Jail for the next two months and then he is to be moved to a state prison.
