A decision has been made by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on the fate of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

Silver handed down a lifetime ban and a $2.5 million dollar fine to the Clippers owner after Silver determined that an audio recording was in fact Sterling making racist comments.

Silver said Sterling will be banned from any association with the Clippers organization or the NBA for life.

Sterling cannot attend any NBA games or practices, be present at the Clippers office or facility, or participate in any player personnel or business decisions.

It is rumored that Silver and the league will also attempt to force Sterling to sell the Clippers.

The announcement comes hours before the Clippers host the Golden State Warriors in game 5 of their playoff series in L.A.

Leading up to the announcement, Clippers players were joined by the majority of NBA playoff teams by turning pre-game warmup jerseys inside-out and wearing black socks as a form of unified protest against Sterling and his comments.
