ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Hamlin Beach State Park in western New York is getting a $2.25 million upgrade.

The work includes improvements to the park's Depression-era bathhouse as well as a new boardwalk nature trail and observation tower. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the project.

Hamlin Beach State Park sits on the shores of Lake Ontario to the west of Rochester.

The Democratic governor says the work is part of a broader, $900 million multi-year effort to upgrade and maintain state parks and historic sites around the state.
