Lance Cpl. Jeremy Lasher Memorial Highway Unveiled
State officials, friends and family members of Lance Cpl. Jeremy Lasher were in Oneida today to officially designate Route 365A in honor of the fallen soldier. LCpl. The ceremony was attended by former Marines along with members of local Marine Corps. As the sign designating Route 365A was unveiled, the Marines on hand sang a solemn version of the Marines Hymn, better known by the lyrics, "The Halls of Montezuma."
Legislation to dedicate the highway was sponsored by Sen. David Valesky, D-Oneida, and Assemblyman Bill Magee, D-Nelson. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the bill on July 3.
