Utica, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara has announced the recipients of of the 2010 District Attorney's Law Enforcement Officers of the Year Award.

Rome Police Officer Donald Moore, State Trooper Carlo Gennerio and Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Burger share the honor.

Moore was off-duty at the AT & T store in New Hartford last May when he shot and killed a gunman who had entered the store and shot an AT & T employee.

Gennerio was the first officer to arrive at the Theall residence in Blossvale in response to a 9-1-1 report of man with a shotgun threatening to kill a baby.

Burger was shot in the ankle while pursusing a suspect in the robbery of the NBT Bank in Rome last July.

McNamara says all three officers demonstrated exceptional bravery, courage and committment to their sworn duty to serve and protect.
