Mohawk Valley, NY (WIBX) - Some officials are gearing up for a different kind of public service, as they take on the challenges of food service workers. The men and women in uniform from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and Utica Police Department, are doing it to raise money for Special Olympics and the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.

It's all happening this Thursday from 4:30 - 8:30 p.m.  at all three Applebee's Restaurants in the Mohawk Valley. Organizers say the law enforcement officials will greet and serve customers, just like the other waiters and waitress's at the Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Those interested in supporting their cause can find more details by contact any of the participating restaurants below:
