(WIBX) - Congressmen Richard Hanna and Bill Owens are underscoring the need to eliminate waste in government in light of the latest report by the Government Accounting Office.

The report, released yesterday, identifies more than fifty areas that displayed evidence of duplication among federal programs.

According to several analyses, eliminating duplicative efforts could result in at least $100 billion worth of savings to American taxpayers.

Hanna and Owens have written to President Obama to formally call attention to the findings in the G.A.O. report.
