A Camden man is facing felony DWI charges following a traffic stop just before the ball dropped on New Year's Eve. State police report that they stopped a vehicle with an obstructed view on Lake Shore Road North in Verona.

Troopers say the operator of the vehicle was 27-year-old Fred C. Huante of Camden. Upon further investigation it was apparent to police that Huante was allegedly intoxicated from alcohol. It was further determined that Huante had two small children as passengers in the vehicle, ages four and six.

Huante was taken into custody, and transported to the State Police barracks in Sylvan Beach. He submitted to a breath test, and was found to have a blood alcohol content of .13%. Huante was charged with Driving while Intoxicated-Common Law, DWI - BAC over .08%, Aggravated DWI – Children in vehicle, and various other vehicle and traffic law violations.

Huante was arraigned in Verona Town Court and ordered to reappear at a later date.
