State Police have made an arrest following a lengthy investigation into a complaint of stolen mail.

A Town of Lee man reported to police back in June that his mail was being taken from the mailbox.

His suspicions were confirmed after setting up "Informed Delivery" with the post office. An “Informed delivery” allows the user to see scanned images of each piece of mail prior to its delivery.

A six week investigation with the assistance of the Rome Post Office, postal investigator and mail carrier led police to a suspect.

69-year-old Edward Davis was arrested and charged for the alleged mail theft. He's facing multiple charges and will appear in Town of Lee Court on August 22nd.
