A Lewis County man is facing multiple felonies after allegedly attacking a homeowner with a chainsaw.

State Police say 29-year old Kyle Poore of Lyons Falls entered the home of his employer brandishing a running chainsaw and used the chainsaw in an attempt to gain access to a bedroom by cutting through the door.

Poore fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of police.  He was eventually apprehended without incident after a State Police Bloodhound tracked Poore through surrounding fields, roadways and a wooded area.

Poore is charged with burglary, assault. criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

The homeowner suffered severe lacerations and tendon damage to his hand.
