Little Fall Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud

A Little Falls woman is facing felony charges following an investigation by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit.

47-year old Michelle Tackett is accused of receiving over $3,200 in Temporary Assistance Program benefits she was not entitled to from September of 2015 to March of this year.

Tackett is charged with welfare fraud and grand larceny.

Tackett was arraigned in the Town of Herkimer Court and directed to report to the Herkimer County Probation Department for electronic monitoring. She is scheduled to return to court on August 9th.
