Loaded Assault Rifle Found In Home During Domestic Dispute

New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - A domestic dispute in New Hartford over the weekend, led to the discovery of a loaded assault rifle. New Hartford police arrested 39-year-old Richard L. Montero, charging him with: resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, for allegedly arguing with family members and causing the disturbance.

According to police, Montero was intoxicated and belligerent, and even threatened the officers on the scene. Police used a taser to take him into custody. The loaded assault rifle was later found in the home during a routine investigation. Montero is due in the Village of New Hartford Court at a later date to face the two misdemeanor charges.
