Washington, DC (WIBX) - A bill banning bath salts and twenty-nine other deadly substances is awaiting the President's signature.

Senator Charles Schumer is announcing that the Senate passed its version of the bill, making specific mention of bath salts cases in Utica and Marcy in his push to pass the legislation.

Three specific bills relating to synthetic substances passed as part of the Food and Drug Administration's Safety and Innovation Act.  Senate Bills S.409, S.605, and S.839 reference bath salts, synthetic marijuana, and sythetic hallucinogens respectively.

Schumer says that this is a warning to those who sell the stuff that "the jig is up," and the loopholes that allowed the sale in the first place are being closed.
