The first two weekends in November local Cub and Boy Scouts will hold their annual "Scouting for Food" drive.

The scouts will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items for churches, food banks and food pantries in Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Otsego and Lewis Counties.

Last year local scouts collected over 70,000 pounds of food to stock pantries around the area.

You can look for Price Chopper bags that will be distributed in your area beginning Saturday, November 2.

All items will be collected the following week, Saturday, November 9.

This year the program is sponsored by Price Chopper and New York Sash.

Anyone with questions can call the Scout Service Center at (315) 735-4437 Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
