Marcy, NY (WIBX) - Everyone is feeling the pinch at the pump but what you may not know is that gas prices are reaching historic proportions.

The American Automobile Association's Ed Welsh says prices in the Mohawk Valley are just about twelve cents below the record for the highest price paid in the Mohawk Valley's history.

Gas prices in the Utica-Rome market are about $4.11 a gallon. Welsh says there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but it might take a while to see it.

He says prices are still very much dependent on the weather for the remainder of hurricane season, and what happens in the Middle East, but experts do believe prices will come back down.
