The local advocacy group Central New York Citizens in Action is releasing a three-point plan to fight climate change on the local and state levels.

Board of Directors member Kevin Nugent says the plan  includes requiring oil companies to obtain 50% of their power from renewable energy sources by 2025, enhancing the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and banning oil trains from traveling through local communities.

Nugent says they're urging citizens to contact their state and local lawmakers and demand they support the plan.

The group will be traveling to New York City on September 21st to participate in the People's Climate March outside the United Nations Climate Change Summit.
