Police agencies in Oneida County will be taking part in a special enforcement effort to crack down on impaired drivers throughout the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The crackdown will run from July 3th through the 6th.

Oneida County STOP DWI will be partnering with the Utica, Rome, Whitesboro, Whitestown, Kirkland, Yorkville, Vernon and New York Mills Police Departments, along with the County Sheriff's Office and State Police.

“As we get ready to celebrate America’s birthday and enjoy the beautiful weather, please remember to celebrate responsibly. Please do your part in keeping our roadways safe”, said, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente. “Happy Fourth of July, have an enjoyable summer and always have a plan to get home safely.

Herkimer County law enforcement agencies will also be participating in the effort.
