Utica, NY (WIBX) - There is a Mud Run coming next May and you can be a part of it - if, of course, you're mighty enough.

Masonic Care Community Development Director Jon-Paul Kidwell announced The Mighty Run, taking place May 4, 2013. Kidwell took the opportunity to taunt local law enforcement, including Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol into participating, saying that the cops would have a chance to prove which force was the mightiest.

Some local politicians were on hand, ready to jump into the mud well ahead of election season.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi and his family, Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri, and a host of community leaders were there to say that they'd be running. Brindisi said that his family would run, and Palmieri Chief of Staff Jim Murphy said he would be the first to sign up for the City's team.

Sign up, limited to the first four thousand registrants, begins August first. Click on The Mighty Run or follow them on Facebook.
