COLONIE, N.Y. (AP) — New York State Police say the driver of a tractor-trailer hauling logs has died after his rig crashed and overturned on an Albany-area highway.

Troopers say the truck was traveling north on state Route 787 around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday when it crashed and flipped over on the Exit 9W ramp in the town of Colonie, just north of Albany. Large logs spilled into a grassy area between the highway and the ramp.

Police say the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver's name is being withheld while next of kin are notified.

Troopers say Exit 9W remains closed late Tuesday morning until the vehicle is removed.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
