Long Island Man Dies in Delaware County ATV Crash

New York State Police are investigating the death of a Long Island man in an all terrain vehicle crash May 24 in Delaware County.

Authorities say at 9:34 p.m., 36 year old Keith Stratton of Bellmore, in Nassau County, was found dead in a shallow creek off Apex Road in the Town of Tompkins near an overturned ATV.

Troopers say Stratton, who had been at a family party nearby when he decided to take an ATV ride, was not wearing a helmet.

Investigators say it appears Stratton failed to make a right turn and overturned.

He was killed on impact.

Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
