Lowville Man Accused Of Raping Minor Child

Lowville, NY (WIBX) - A Lowville man is facing felony rape and child endangerment charges after an investigation revealed that he forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sexual conduct with a minor child. State Police in Lowville say, 40-year-old Kurt Hazzard of 6835 Mechanic Street in Croghan, NY is also accused of exposing another minor child to sexual contact. Officials say one victim is less that 16-years-old and the other is 12-years-old.

Hazzard is charged with two counts of First Degree Rape, (Class B Felony), one count of First Degree Criminal Sexual Act, (Class B Felony) and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, (Class A Misdemeanor). Hazzard was arraigned in the Village of Lowville Court on January 5, 2011 and taken to the Lewis County Jail with cash bail set at $10,000.00 and bond set at $20,000.00.
