Madison County Crash Sends Nine People To Area Hospitals

A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Swamp and Fearon Roads in the Madison County Town of Smithfield sent nine people to the hospital.

State Police say a State Department of Transportation dump truck collided with a van owned by the Sherburne-Earlville School District just before 7:30 this monring.

Both vehicles left the road and overturned.

Police say the  van was enroute to Syracuse with school staff members for a training conference.

The driver of the van was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
