Man Allegedly Threatens Wife With Murder Suicide

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police arrested a man for allegedly threatening to kill his wife and then himself. The domestic dispute started after a court hearing on Wednesday June 6, when 37-year-old Sala Munyati accused his wife of talking bad about him to his lawyer.
His wife told police that Munyati ran into the kitchen when they got home, grabbed a large knife, and threatened to commit the murder and suicide. Officials say the incident happened in front the couples three young children, ages 4, 2 and 11-months-old.
Munyati of Armory Drive in Utica was arrested on Sunday, June 10, for the incident and is facing the following charges:
- Criminal contempt in the 1st degree (felony)
- Criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree
- Menacing in the 2nd degree
- Endangering the welfare of a child.
