Man Arrested For December Cottage Place Shooting

A Utica man is under arrest for a shooting that took place on Cottage Place in December.

Utica Police say James Jackson, 23, of Saratoga street allegedly shot Shawn Ward multiple times with a .22 caliber weapon.

Police say Jackson also allegedly shot and killed Ward's dog during the incident.

Jackson was also found with crack-cocaine when he was arrested.

He was charged with First Degree Assault, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
