An Ilion man was arrested for DWI last night after two concerned Utica citizens called police.

According to Utica Police last night around 9:00 p.m., the two citizens saw Jonathan Jones, 34, driving erratically and swerving on North Genesee Street.

Jones then hit a curb and popped his tire, but after pulling into a parking lot and looking at the damage, tried to drive away.

The two citizens then pulled their car in front of Jones, opened his door and took his keys until police arrived.

Jones was found to have a blood alcohol content of .15% and was charged with two counts of DWI.
