A false alarm has led to the arrest of a Utica man.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Yamil Montalvo was placed into custody for activating a fire alarm at the Oneida County Office building when no emergency existed.

The County building was evacuated and the Utica Fire Department responded as a precaution. No injuries were reported during the event.

Montalvo was committed to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and charged with Felony Falsely Reporting an Incident.
