Man Arrested For Shooting And Killing Dog

Clinton, NY (WIBX) - A Clinton man is facing charges after police say he shot and killed his dog.

According to Kirkland Police, 58-year old William Richerson was emotionally upset and took the Jack Russell Terrier into the basement of his home and shot the dog with a 22-caliber pistol.

Richerson was charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say Richerson did not have a permit for the gun.
