WEST SENECA, N.Y. (AP) — A Rochester man has been charged with fatally shooting a relative during a fight after a basketball game in suburban Buffalo.

Police in the town of West Seneca say 39-year-old Andre Lewis and 54-year-old Robert Echols, also of Rochester, got into a fight Saturday night in the entrance to the Niagara Frontier Sports Complex, where a girls AAU basketball game had judged ended.

Police say the players, coaches and families were gathered in the lobby when the fight broke out and Echols was shot twice. He later died at a Buffalo hospital.

Lewis was injured and was arraigned Sunday at a hospital on second-degree murder charges. He's being held in the Erie County Jail. It couldn't be learned from prosecutors if he has a lawyer.

Authorities say the two men were distant relatives.
