LYONS, N.Y. (AP) — A 26-year-old man has been charged with murder in the deaths of his missing girlfriend and her 14-month-old child, whose remains were found on an upstate New York farm.

WHEC-TV reports Tuesday that Alberto Reyes was arraigned after being indicted by a Wayne County grand jury on murder and tampering with physical evidence charges.

Reyes is accused of killing 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her son. The mother's body was found buried on a farm in Sodus last spring.

The skeletal remains of her son were found scattered in the woods on the same farm months later in October.

Reyes lived with his girlfriend on the farm. He has admitted to burying her, but not killing her.

Information on his lawyer wasn't immediately available. He's due back in court Jan. 15.
