Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into House In Vernon

A Staten Island man is facing a DWI charge after his car struck a house in Vernon.

State Police say 21-year old John Noone was traveling at an unsafe speed on Route 31 early Sunday morning.

Troopers say Noone lost control his car on a curve, sheared off a utility pole and then hit a home on Peterboro Street.

The crash caused structural damage to the front of the house and dropped live power lines onto the building.

Noone was not injured.
