SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — A 30-year-old man has been found guilty of stabbing a woman so violently she was left with serious internal injuries after a bar brawl in Syracuse's popular downtown entertainment district.

Onondaga County prosecutors tell The Post-Standard of Syracuse (http://bit.ly/2f8HOBK ) that Haithem Hasan, of Syracuse, was recently convicted of assault, menacing and harassment.

Authorities say Hasan was at a bar in Armory Square in July 2015 when his girlfriend got into a fight with a woman. Prosecutors say the brawl spilled outside, where Hasan stabbed the woman, lacerating her liver and exposing her large intestine. The woman has since recovered.

Hasan also punched the victim's sister and used the knife to menace a taxi driver while making his getaway.

Hasan faces up to 25 years in prison when sentenced Nov. 28.
