TRIANGLE, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a 59-year-old man has died of injuries suffered in a fire at a rural upstate New York home over the weekend.

Troopers say the blaze was reported around 5:20 p.m. Saturday at a home in the Broome County town of Triangle, 15 miles (24 kilometers) north of Binghamton.

Fire crews from neighboring Chenango and Cortland counties also responded. Emergency crews pulled two people from the burning structure. Troopers say Mark Masler was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City for treatment of severe burns over most of his body.

Police say Maslar was transferred to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The other person wasn't injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
