UTICA, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Utica are investigating the fatal shooting of man who was gunned down at an apartment complex.

Official say officers responded shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday to reports of shots fired at the Cathedral Garden Apartments on the city's west side.

Police say the victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System, where he died a short time later. His name hasn't been released.

Police are looking for a vehicle that was last seen in the area of the shooting and may have bullet holes in it.

No arrests have been reported.

UPDATED 12:44 p.m. - Utica Police are releasing the name of the man who was shot and killed last night at an apartment complex in West Utica.

The victim is identified as 35-year old David Davis of Utica.
