Man Found Floating In Water Near Marcy Dam Has Been Identified

A man found floating in the water near the Marcy Dam is being identified as 36-year old Kevin Benham of Saranac Lake.

Benham was discovered by hikers after 1:30pm on September 24, 2013.  They said he was unresponsive but CPR was begun.  DEC forest rangers and a flight nurse from Adirondack Medical Center tried to resuscitate him.

An autopsy performed the following day showed that the cause of death was accidental fresh water drowning.
