Man Hurts Elderly Woman at Utica Bus Stop, Arrested

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Police Department arrested a Utica man on an assault charge after they say he pushed over a 70-year old woman, causing her a head injury. According to the arresting officer, 28-year old Jason Ricca and the elderly woman were waiting at the bus stop on Genesee Street.

When the woman asked to sit down next to the man, who was rolling a cigarette, the man refused. That's when Police say he shoved her to the ground.

The elderly woman, who was bleeding  from the head injury, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Ricca was booked on a misdemeanor assault charge.
