Man In York Street Shooting Incident Dies
The suspect in a shooting incident on York Street in Utica has died from his injuries.
Utica Police were called to a wooded area near the Addison Miller playground yesterday afternoon by witnesses who heard shots fiired.
When an officer arrived, he found a man carrying a long gun.
The officer told the man to drop the weapon several times.
The man refused and shots were fired.
The man sustained a chest wound.
It's not known if the wound was caused by the officers gun or if it was self-inflicted.
The man's name has not been released and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death
The investigation is continuing.
