STEFANI LINEVA [Binghamton University photo][/caption]26 year old Aizaz Siddiqui apologized in court for the incident that left 20 year old Stefani Lineva dead.  Information revealed in the court proceedings showed the Binghamton University tennis player had been drinking and was lying in the road December 3rd of last year when she was hit.

Officials said they believed the sentence of 60 days in the Broome County Jail weekend program is justified following Siddiqui’s guilty plea to misdemeanor leaving the scene of an incident without reporting but commented that he would not have faced charges if he had just stopped after hitting Lineva.

Siddiqui had originally been charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death.

Prosecutors say they believe there are still other circumstances involved and the investigation is still open.
