ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Rochester are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and a woman hospitalized after they were hit by gunfire while sitting in a parked car.

Officials say officers responding to reports of shots fired around 12:30 p.m. Monday saw people running away from a vehicle on North Clinton Avenue. Police say a 33-year-old man died in the front passenger seat. A 23-year-old woman was shot in the lower part of her body while sitting behind the wheel. She was found walking on a nearby street.

She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that aren't considered life-threatening.

No arrests have been made. Investigators are trying to determine what led to the shooting.
