Disturbed Man Kills Himself Because Girlfriend Won’t Stop Shopping for Shoes

Talk about ‘shop ‘til you drop.’

A man in China, 38-year-old Tao Hsiao, jumped to his death from a high-rise shopping center recently after he was driven to the brink by his girlfriend’s Christmas shopping habits. When his 'lady love' told him she wanted to look at more shoes, he took the very drastic step of killing himself by jumping from the department store's seventh floor.

It seems that Tao reportedly couldn’t cope after dealing with more than five hours of Christmas shopping with his girlfriend in a mall.

A witness described what went down prior to Tao’s demise:

He told her she already had enough shoes, more shoes that she could wear in a lifetime and it was pointless buying any more. She started shouting at him accusing him of being a skinflint and of spoiling Christmas, it was a really heated argument."

Surveillance cameras then captured Tao tossing shopping bags over the seventh floor railing and then flying over himself, landing by the cosmetics. Authorities say he died immediately and no other injuries were reported.
